Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

Salmon Fillets

  • 4 salmon fillets skin-on, about 6 oz each
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar light or dark
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season with salt and black pepper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, minced garlic, and lemon juice to create the glaze.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip the salmon, reduce heat to low, and pour the glaze over the fillets. Cook for another 5-6 minutes, occasionally spooning the glaze over the top, until the salmon is caramelized and fully cooked.
  • Remove from heat and let rest for a minute. Serve with extra glaze drizzled on top.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the salmon marinate in the glaze for 15 minutes before cooking. Serve with roasted vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
